Los Angeles, 2019. The American metropolis is in a state of total decay. Despite the ever-present neon lights, the city is engulfed in an unsettling darkness, with toxic rain falling from the sky. An undisputed classic of science fiction, Blade Runner was initially dismissed by both critics and audiences but later emerged as one of the most important – and undoubtedly one of the most influential – films in cinema history. Although the screenplay was based on Philip K. Dick’s novel, Ridley Scott infused the film with his own distinct vision, crafting a visually stunning spectacle while also posing profound questions about the essence and limits of humanity.

The making of Blade Runner was a turbulent process, and the film went through multiple edits – starting with the unsatisfactory theatrical release, in which the studio demanded the addition of Deckard’s narration, to the 1992 Director’s Cut, which gradually gained recognition for removing the voice-over and introducing new narrative elements. With each version, the film evolved, and the final cut, released in 2007, was deemed the definitive edition, combining Scott’s artistic vision with technical perfection, encapsulating the true essence of this cult masterpiece. The version we are presenting is The Final Cut, created by Ridley Scott in 2007, the only version over which the director had full creative control.
