Young Syrian Isra’a and her family flee bombed Aleppo to start a new life in Germany. Over a decade, the camera follows them through wartime experiences, exile, and adaptation in a foreign country, revealing the complexity of refugee lives. The film portrays Isra’a’s growth – from child to young woman learning a new language, building relationships, and shaping her identity – alongside family transformations, struggles with trauma, and the search for belonging. The story ends with her return to a war-damaged homeland, raising questions about home, memory, and identity in the context of the global refugee crisis.
