Portret codziennego życia i pracy kobiet zatrudnionych w jednej z największych fabryk elektroniki w prowincji Bắc Ninh w Wietnamie. Zatrudnionych jest tam 80 000 kobiet, które stanowią około 80 % załogi i pracują w rygorze długich, 12‑godzinnych zmian w dzień i w nocy, pod ciągłą kontrolą oraz stałą presją wydajności. Poznajemy fizyczne i emocjonalne wyzwania pracy przy taśmie montażowej oraz wpływ tych warunków na tożsamość, relacje rodzinne oraz marzenia młodych Wietnamek o lepszej przyszłości. Film łączy obserwacyjny styl dokumentalny z parateatralnymi rekonstrukcjami oraz etnograficznym spojrzeniem na pracę we współczesnej fabryce. Powtarzalność działań, monotonia maszyn i surowa estetyka przestrzeni fabryki kontrastują z indywidualnością, wytrwałością i solidarnością zatrudnionych w niej pracownic. Film stawia pytania o wyzysk i rolę płci w globalnym systemie produkcji oraz ekonomii, a także o prawa kobiet w pracy oraz koszty, jakie w wymiarze indywidualnym i rodzinnym ponoszą one w dobie transformacji.

A portrait of the everyday lives and work of women employed in one of the largest electronics factories in Bắc Ninh province, Vietnam. The plant employs 80,000 women, who make up around 80% of the workforce and work long 12-hour day and night shifts under constant surveillance and relentless productivity pressure. The film explores the physical and emotional challenges of assembly-line work and the impact of these conditions on identity, family relationships, and the dreams of young Vietnamese women for a better future. Blending observational documentary with paratheatrical reconstructions and an ethnographic view of labor in a contemporary Vietnamese factory, the film contrasts the repetition of tasks, the monotony of machines, and the harsh industrial environment with the individuality, resilience, and solidarity of the women who work there. It raises questions about exploitation and gender in the global system of production and economy, as well as women’s labor rights and the personal and familial costs they bear in an era of transformation.
